LARGE FAT STOCK ENTRIES

VALUES CONTINUE HIGH There were further large entries of fat stock at the Levin weekly sale yesterday. The quality of sheep, hoggets and fat cattle was good, and prices realised were on a par with last week's high values. Top price for wethers was 44s ld and for hoggets 38s 7d; no store sheep were yarded. Good quality ox made up to £20 7s 6d, prime cows £13 7s 6d and light prime heifers up tg £12 17s 6d, while runners toppe'd £11 2s 6d. A fair yarding of dairy cattle came for•ward, but -quality was not up to the standard of previous saies and prices consequently dropped. Pigs were in shorter supply and the high prices realised in the store pens was shown in contrast with che high values obtained for pork. The following prices were realised: — Sheep: Extra prime heavy wethers, 42s 4d to 44s ld; prime heavy, 39s lOd, 41s ld to 41s 7d; lighter, 37s lOd to 39s; prime quality b.f. 2-ths., 36s lOd; medium, 34s 7d; light, 32s 7d; prime heavy ewes, 31s lOd to 33s ld; lighter, 26s lOd to 29s 7d; unfinished, 16s to .5s 7d; maiden ewes, 33s 4d to 36s ld; prime quality hoggets, 37s ld to 38s 7d; medium, 30s lOd, 32s to 35s; light prime, 26s 7d to 27s lOd.
