PLUNKET SOCIETY
MONTHLY MEETING The following committee members of the Shannon sub-branch of the Plunket Society were present at the monthly meeting held last week: — Mesdames L. W. Wilson, F. Thurston, C. Tremewan, F. Edmonds and C. Wishart. Final arrangements were made for the forthcoming Plunket ball. That fuiids will be needed more than ever was made evident by a letter received advising that Shannon's contribution to the Levin branch for the Plunket nurse's services had been increased from £36 12s to £44 4s per annum. Advice was received that a grant of £15 had been made'to the sub-branch by the Macarthy Trust. The lack of committee members was proving a source of worry to the committee, and the hope was expressed that persons interested in furthering the good work accomplished by the Plunket
Society would come forward so that a strong committee might be formed.
