ST. MARY'S FLOWER SHOW
ENTRIES CLOSE MGNDAY A feature of the spring flower sho.w, to be held in St. Mary's Hall, Levin, on September 17, will be a display of orchids by Mrs. A. J. Black. Held under the auspices of the St. Mary's Guild, the show is intended for amateur exhibitors only. It has been a popular function in the past, and a large number of entries is expected this year. A rose bowl, awarded to the exhibitor gaining the greatest number of points in the cut flower section has been held for the past two years by Mrs. D. A. Stewart. If she wins again this year, she will become the final holder. The other special class is for narcissi, and the decorative classes include competitions for bowls of flowers, arrangement of flowers and so on. There are two special classes for children, both decorative. Exhihits must be ready for judging by 11.3.0 a.m. on the day of the show., For the purposes of the show, an amateur will be treated as one who does not grow or ,advertise plants for sale. All entries are
ro oe given to the secretary (Miss P. R. Wilson) by Monday, September 16. They may be made by letter or telephone. The •secretary's address is Kawiu Road, Levin, and her telephone number is 441. Afternoon tea will be served at the show.
