LEVIN WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
JUNIOR CIRCLE MEETS The August monthly meeting of the Junior Circle of the Levin W.I. was held recently in the Oddfellows' Hall. The president (Miss Bowden) opened the meeting by welcoming Mrs. Spencer from the senior W.I. and those present. Apologies were received from Misses S. and D. Johnson and M. Hartstonge. A letter enclosing the show
schedule for the Horowhenua A. and P.. Association was also read. The competitions were won as follows: — Best darned patch: B. Blenkhorn 1, M. Johnson 2, S. Johnson 3. Best bloom: B. Blenkhorn 1, M. Hannan 2, S. Johnson 3.Mrs. Spencer adjudicated. Mrs. Spencer, the delegate for the Levin W.I., gave a very interesting and amusing talk on the programme of the Dominion conference held in Wellington. A tasty supper was. served by the hostesses' Misses A. Capstick, M. MacDonald and J. Cheeseman, after which the meeting came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. Members are reminded that- the next meeting will be held on September 17. - ,
