Messrs. Townsend .and Paul, fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that limited supplies of fruits are reaching the market, •orices remaining lirm with a tendency to" rise in most lines. Tree tomatoes, passionfruit, Chinese gooseberries, Meyer lemons* and hothouse tomatoes are in short jupply, and should meet with very Iceen demand where available. Similarly, vegetables in the main are keenly sought, spring cabbage, pumpkins, good parsnips, kumera.s and swedes making ceiling, while celery, beetroot, leeks, spinach, sprouts, marrows and in particular cauliflower, and hothouse rhubarb, are realising attractive prices. Green peas and new potato supplies have fallen off slightly, and prices have risen as a resuit. New season's flowers are in fairly good supply, prices remaining firm for most varieties. Poultry supplies have increased slightly with new season birds reaching the market, prices remaining extremely attractive for all quality lines.
