CARD EVENING

Another enjoyable card evening in aid of Scouts' funds was held at he residence of Mrs. Synnott, Waerenga Road, where the rooms were gay with masses of daffodils and Iceland poppies. Eight card tables were occupied by enthusiastic players, all keen to win. even if anly the consolation bouquets. The prizes were awarded to Miss Ross, Oriental Bay, for bridge and Mrs. Bowie and Mr. Synnott 500, while the lovely daphne posies went to Mrs. Davies and Mr. K. Berry. The prizes were donated by Mrs. Hvans, Kirk Street. A delicious supper was provided by the Scouts' committee under the aapable management of Mrs. McBeth and Mrs. K. Berry. Mr. Berry. on behalf of the Scouts, returned thanks to Mr. and

Mrs. Synnott for the use of their home. He also announced that Ihe next party on September 24 would be held at Mrs. McBeth's in Rangitara Street.
