OTAKI STATE SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE A special meeting of the Otaki State School Committee was held on Monday night, the chairman, Mr. Harold Taylor, presiding. The main business of the meeting was to consider the resignaLion of Mrs. Joncs as carctaker at the school, which it was agreed to accept. Members of the committee expressed regret at the loss of her services. It was decided to write Mrs. Jones a letter of appreciation. Mr. J. Miller was appointed in her stead. It was decided to write to Mr. Silverwood and . thank him for his kindness in giving gratis attention to the school docks. Other business was held ovcr until the ordinary monthly meeting. Headmaster's Report The hcadmaster (Mr. James) reported that the roll at the end of the first term numbered 359 and at the end of the second 390. With 16 entered on the opening day of the third term and four withdrawn the total now stood at 402.
