Y-,The London Gazette announces that Major-General Freyberg has petired from , ffie iArm0 on rotired pay, on accountPof disability. Mrs. W. S. Lett, of Salisbury Street, is judging the decorative section at the Foxton Horticultural Society's spring show to-day. She will act in a similar capacity at the Tokomaru Horticultural Society's show on Saturday. The Clerk of the House of Representatives, Mr. G. F. Bothamley, will retire on October 31 on superannuation. He succeeded to the office of clerk on July 1 last year, after being clerk assistant for 12 years. He is in his 40th year in the public service, the whole of which has been spent in the legislative department. He is a member of an old Wellington family with long association with Parliament House. He is a son of the late Mr. A. T. Bothamley who for many years occupied the position of Black Rod, while a brother, Mr. C. M. Bothamley is at present Clerk of Parliaments and Clerk of the Legislative Council. Mr. G. F. Bothamley served in both world wars.
