ATTEMPTS ON ROOSEVELT'S LIFE
Received Tuesday, 8.25 p.m. WASHINGTON, Sept. 10. Mr. Frank Wilson, reliring chief oi tlie United States -Secret Service, stated tliat there were about a dozen attempts on the late President Roosevelt's lifc during the war. All wero made by cranks or lunaties. The attempts were both. in United States and overseas. Mr.. Wilson declined to disclose details other thaji to say tliat in all case? infernal niachines were used. Tliere were usually crude bombs.- None of the attempts got anywhere near Mr Roosevelt. The Secret Service had £ specially constructed truck with whieli speeilily to remove the bombs froir Whiie House.
