A very successful dance was held in the "Dug-out" in aid of St. John Ambulance funds. The W.D.F.F. held its monthly meeting in the Anglican Hall, presided over by Mrs. Harris. The roll call for the day was- "My Favourite Motto." Mrs. Smifch gave an interesting demonstration of pen painting, which was greatly enjoy>d by all. Mrs. Glenn-Campbell delightfully entertained with two songs, accompanied by Mrs. Graham. Competitions resulted: Best bioom, Mrs. Wallis 1, Mrs. Beckett 2; best jar of maralade, Mrs. Wallis; best bottle of fruit, Mrs. R. Drewitt. Afternoon tea was served and the meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. The members of the Methodist Church held a garden party at the home of Mrs. Ballantyne, Paraparaumu. A pleasing array of goods soon found a ready sale and a very I pleasant and profitable afternoon' was spcnt by all.
