Received Tuesdav, 8.50 p.m. OTTAWA, Sept. 9. The roctor of Christchurch Cathedral, Ottawa, Mr. L. F. Graham, told tlie congregatian that the service led by tio* Archbishop of Canterbury was noi broadeast beeause the Canadian Broadeasting Corporation oftieials eonsidered the Archbishop "had no public appeal''. It had been reported that Viscount Montgomery would read tlie lesson. The C.B.C. jumped at the opportunitv to broadeast but when it was learned Viscount Montgomery was not participating, the officiais ealled oft tlie programme. C B.C. directors have ordered an investigation and have alsi announced that thev are arranging a nationwide hook-up for the Archbisho]). The assistant General Manager of tln C.B.C., Mr. Donald Manson. said provious connnitments made it iiupossibhto broadeast the full service between 5.30 p.m. and 0.20 p.m. on August 29. tlierefore it was decided it would be better not to broadeast any portion al though it was suggested Viscount Mont gomerv miglit participate in the service His presenee or otherwise was not taken into eonsideration. The acting liiaiiager of the Ottawa liroadcasting station ilenied the statemcnt that the Archbishop had no public appeal in Canada.
