Mr. and Mrs.. J. W. Holdstock are visiting Levin en route to reside in Auckland. Mrs. Vic. Flight, of Motuopa Bay, Taupo, is spending a sliort holiday with Mr. and Mrs. A. Bonner, ; Levin. Mrs. G. Mannering and1 Mr. R. - Mannering, of Christchurch, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. L. R. , Salmons, Queenwood Road, prior to a visit to the north. A motion of sympathy with Mr. H. J. Lancaster in the death of his son was passed at a meeting of the executive of the Manawatu A. and P. Association in Palmerston North yest'erday. At the annual meeting of the . Levin branch of the British and' ' Foreign Bible Society on Monday evening, the Rev. A. Sklmond was ! elected president" and Mrs-. E. M. de Mey secretary for the coming " year. : The death has occurred in Auckland of Lady Allen, wife of Sir . Stephen Allen, of Morrinsville. : Lady Allen, who was the daughter ^ of Mr. and- Mrs. A. L. Foster, "of j Remuera, Auckland, married Sir . Stephen Allen in England in 1918. , Cbntinued poor health for many 3 years prevented her- tak-ing a' prominent part in public life.
