Roach, Stout ,-Street. Rrivate A. Wl Gunhmg. sun of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Gunaing, Slout Street, arrived home on Sunday oy the Chitral from Italy via Japan. Mr. John Osler, who w(is scationed at Mangaore a few years ago, is spending a short holiday m this district ■ looking Up his mauy old friends. ' ' Mr. and Mrs. W.' Clayton accompanied by their daughter, Miss A. Clayton, and granddaughter, Miss Pam Clayton, have returned home from a holiday at Paekakariki Beach. Misses J. Pigott, K. Nepia and L. Pedersen and Mrs. C. D. Gyde haye arrived home from the basketbail tournament at Rotorua. Alnhougn the team won oniy olie match, the local piayers spent a most e-.joy-aoie trip^
