Rationed for Year Yet A substantial improvement in the sugar and tea supplies in rationed countries, was not likely within a year, in the opinion of Mr. Harry Turner, retired London manager of the fruit saies division of the Marketing Department, who returned in the motorship Port Jackson. It was feared the pooling of world food supplies would continue for at least another year. Mr. Turner said. The cereal position at present was very seriouS. Referring to the resumption of apple exports on a large scale to the United Kingdom, he stated he attempted to obtain an assuranee from the Ministry of Supply that it would take up to a million cases next year but no undertaking could be given yet owing to the shortage of refrigerate*3 tonnage.
