WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. Considerable confusion has arisen recently regarding the actual day on which Labour Day is to be observed this year, some calenders giving the date October 21 and others tlie eorreet date October 28. This confusion has ex'tended even to railway and steamer bookings. When the matter was referred to the Labour Depar'tment for a ruling, the department said it was laid down bv statute in the Public Holidavs Act, 1910, that Labour Day is tiie fourth Monday in October. Therefore, Labour Day this year must fall on October 28.
