WOMEN'S DIVISION
SEPTEMBER MEETING Mrs. C. Guerin presided over fourteen members of the Shannon branch of ihe Women's- Division of Federated Farmers at their September meeting this week. A subscription and a donation were received from Mrs. D. James, Kingston Road. A letter of thanks was received from the matron of Kaianga Moe Rest Home for a donation to the furnishing fund for the matron's sitting room, and for fees payable to the rest home. The allotment of special money at the forthcomine flower show was dis-
cussed, and it was decided to scatter special prizes of 2s- 6d each among the schedule instead of a few at 10s 6d each.; Thanks were expressed to Mrs. A. R. Mills and Mrs. J. Stevens for gifts of tea towels, dishcloths and soap for W.D. use. Mesdames E. Moore and R. H. Carter were the hostesses for the afternoon. Mrs. W. H. Roberts, of Buckley, invited members to her home for the November meeting, Competition winners were: — Best shopping basket of flowers: Mrs. L. H. Best 1, Mrs. A. R. Mills 2, Mrs. J. Stevens 3. Three gems: Mrs. Mills 1, Mrs. C. Guerin 2. Oven cloth: Mrs. C. Guerin 1, Mrs. A. R. Mills 2 and Mrs. J. Stevens 3.
