The Daily Telegraph 's speeial corres pondent reports from Oslo tliat tluRed Navy is salvaging the scuttled German battleship -Gneisenau in Gdyuia harbour and is also raising oUie'r snuke-i German sliips for division jietweeji the Russian and Poiisli navies. These in clude two t ransports of 8000 and 10,000 dons, the old battle cruiser Schleswig liolsiein, and ihe 12,000-ton target sh"p Zah.ringen. The correspondent states conftiderable doubt exisis whelher the Russians have in fact, scuttled the 20 to 25 German, submarines they captured at Koenigs berg, Gdvnia, Warnemeuude and Stettin and that most of those boats are be lieved to have been reconiiitioned at Libau under the supervision of German experts. He confirms previous reports tliat- the Russians are strongly fortifying Warne meunde as a naval liase. The Daily Telegraph points out that -such fortiflcations are a breach of the Potsdam Agreement and also tliav Russia, Bri.t.ain and United States have already received all .fhe. 17- boats 'which they are entafled1 .td-.j refav'jt .from tlie captured Geimah fleet.
