OTAKI'S RAINFALL
The rainfall for Otaki during \ugust totalied 5.55 inches. Tlie higliest fa.ll was 1.86 in. on the 19th. Rain fell ' on twenty days Fherc wero four frosts ancl snow fell on the ranges on four occasions. There wcre several hail storms, the largest ones the biggest for five years. There were also thundcrstorms. It was a real winter's month, bcnehcial in keeping back fruit trces and checking insect pests.
