TUI GLEN DEFEAT BUCKLET Once again after five years the Buckley and Tui Glen Golf Ciubs met in a match at Tui Glen lfnks on Sunday. Before the war this fhcture was the most looked forward to match on the Buckley programme. Golfing conditions .on Sunday were ideal, dlthough heavy rain which fell early in the week made the fairways heavy, the greens were- in excellent eondition. Some' good golf was played and those who made the trip spent a most enjoyable day. Tui Glen were successful in winning back the challenge cup by .14 games to Buckley's nine. Fcur games were drawn. up. » K. Thomson (Buckley) won the stableford with 35 points. Thomson played outstanding golf, scoring six bogies in succession. Following the delightful afternoon tea, Mr. J. Mabey, on behalf of the Buckley Club, congratulated the Tui Glen team on its success in winning back the Tui Glen-Buck-ley Challenge Cup, and expressed a hope that a return match could be arranged this season. Mi\ Mabey also tendered thanks for the most' enjoyable day. Mr. Purdie, president of the Tui Glen Club suitably replied.-
An interesting side-light of the match was when Mr. H. Karena, the well-known Buckley player, almost holed in one. From his tee shot the ball ran nicely along the green, and after striking the pin fell into the cup, only to bounee out again. Mr. Karena was a very worried man for a few seconds, bift was happy to score a birdie two for the hole. x
