CIVIL AVIATION EMPLOYMENT FIELD LIMITED
The limited opportuiiities ofl'ering in civil aviation are diseussed in a statemeut received from tlie Kehabilitaliou Board, which says that apart from the requiroments of the National Airwavs Cor poration, tlie possibility of employment for qualilied aircrew will probably be conlined to local air taxi services, aero clubs and private Arnis. "National Airways Corporation, which will be the largest employer of aircrew in New Zealand, has advised the board that rio aircrew will be re quired by that organisal ion l'or approximately nine to twelve months, as the personnel employed by Ihe existing operating companies are first to be absorbed by the corporation," adds the stafement. " Thereal'ter, the taking 011 of additional staff is dependenl 011 vacancies still needing to be filled, and also on the rate at which the corporation can expend its operations. "It is also understood that when Ihe corporation does need further aircrew, fhe posi tions will be advertised and the su*cessful applicants put th rough the corporation's own course to enable them to obtain the necessary qualifications. "Since other opportunitics in Enfield of civil aviation are particularlv limited,. the board is unwilling to assist ex-servicemen to qualil'y uniess there is a definit'e promise of employment con f.ingent upon the applicant's qualifications. ' '
