AUCKLAND, August 30. One of New Zealand 's greatest war heroes, Squadron Leader L. H. Trent, V.C., D.F.C., of Nelson, nearly burst into tears on the Victory Parade. He revealed this in an interview this moming on the liner Akaroa in which he returned from England after an absence of eight years. He is accompanied by his English wife gnd five-year-old daughter. Squadron Leader Trent said that while marching in the Parade he glimpsed a woman bystander with tears coursing down her face. It was a very moving sight and he nearly burst into tears himself. He said his thoughts on the Parade were with the men who did not survive the war and he was wondering how their relatives felt on such a day. Squadron Leader Trent said his future plans were indefinite but he was considering returning to England in about six months to take a permanent commission in the R.A.F.
