' ' W e went up to Thetlieomotikon and tlie jeep broke down, so I worked just outsidu t'lie town all ai'ternoon, u.siug the jeep step for a dental chair, and, as all tne pninus peirol was used, lysu. for sterilising", " writes Miss Iris Law son, a niember of the Corso unit from Florina, Greece. "1 had started off to write letters when niothers with children turned up so I had a busy afternoon workin^ undev very unsuitable conditions. An other jeep had to be sent for us, but in the meantime 1 got a lift in a truck along with a eouple of dead foxes, anu two lambs. "One day 1 visited a village by tht name of Damnia, nearly on the Bul garian border, and had a most inlerest ing time. I worked in a kind of open air pigeon house, and all the villages were most. interested, So much so, that one old man who had just'. (inishe. gathering in some bees let them escape and when I left he was standing — lean ng against a post and WmRtling to them. I was told that bees know thei: keeper's whistle, but it seems a yarn t( me. We went through several burnt-ou and deserted villages while over. there. "We attended a ceremony up on the hill at the back of our headquarters in Kozani for the unveiling of a tablet . in meniory of seven Brjtish parachutists who were shot 011 this hill in 1943. The residents of Kozani subscribed for the tablet. It is on the wall of the ' little ehurch, which is only a shell now, as it was destroyed by the Germans before they left. It was a very impressive serviee — tliousauds of people tnugt have been there, including Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. " j
