FORM AT FOXTON
With the Foxton meeting coming olf next Saturday, splendid fields have been entered, and a good day's racing is assured. Local and Otaki stables will be well represented. The Ringmaster gelding, Ring Scarf, finished a good second to Night Prince in his last start at Riccarton over 2£- miles. The distance in the Hack and Hunters' Steeples is the same, and with a weaker field than he encountered at Riccarton, his prospects are promising. Glensevern, from Quinn's stable at Levin, is regarded in these paris
as a good jumper, with a fair amount of- pace, and should be hard to head off should he become prominent. Gay Flame, a winner at his last start at Napier Park, has the makings of a good jumper and his recent trials suggest that he is very The Gay Bay gelding is entered for the Paiaka Hurdles, and the distance of one mile .and five'furllongs will suit him'admirably. Lord Darnley's effort in the Islington Handicap on the( final day at Riccarton was one of his best- 'perf ormances - ; tio date. If allowed-'to .make the ' pace early he should be hard to beat. In improving, Pink Coat gelding Revetir is due, and may collect some stake money in the Carnarvon Handicap. ' He has a strong finishing run, which may make him dangerous. Lastik is an interesting entrant for the Paiaka Hurdles, but whether he is capable of winning or not is something that will be decided on Saturday. Here is a horse with good pace, and his jumping ability is regarded as fair. Leybourne's win is overdue, but the six furlong Robinson Handicap may be his target. He is a first class speedster when fit. The Foxbridge horse, Tifox, showed improvement when he finished flfth to a first class field at Riccarton. He should be prominent at the finish of the Awahou Hack Handicap. Chris. Mora's Hadrian is making a re-appearance and much interest will be taken in his race. This time last season Hadrian was winning them in a row.
