Man's Body Identified The body which it was reported yesterday had. been found .washed up on the shpre about five miles north of the Himatangi Beach late the previous afternoon, was, yesterday identified as being James Joseph Gahan", aged 68, who since August 17 had been missing from his home at 58 Ingestre Street, Wanganui. An inquest will be held la'ter. Electorai Roll Closing The general roil for the Otaki electorate will close early in September, said the registrar, Mr. H. J. Henderson, yesterday. He emphasised thp point that exservicemen who'«may have voted when serving in the armed forces during the 1943 election, are not automatieally placed on the roll. They. must make individual application to become registered. Bpyes, and the deputy Prime Minister Mr. Nash, who said they would be pleased to- .accept suggestions that might solve the housing pfob-; iem. rJ r.- 1 Fatal Intersection Mishap Fatal head injuries were suffered by Mr. Robert Hugh Boyd, aged 65, of Blenheim, in an accident at the corner of High and Cashel Streets, Christchurch, at 10.40 o'clock on Tuesday night. He was admitted to Christchurch Public Hospital in a serious condition and died at 7.40 a.m. yesterday. Mr. Boyd was crossing the road at the intersection when he was struck by a motor car. The police believe Mr. Boyd had' no relations living in New Zealand. He arrived at Christchurch a few days ago on holiday and was employed by the Musgrove Contracting Firin, Blenheim. B.ritish Qirls Coming The first party oi 25 girls who are being brought to New Zealand from Britain to assist iri overc'oming the staffing problem in mentai hospitals in the Dominion. is expected to le^ve for New Zealand, in the Rangitata eqriy next month, the Minister of Health.
