U.S. INCREASES PRICES Received Thursday, 11 a.m. WASHiNGTON, Aug. 29. The United St-ates Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. Anderson, has directed the Office of Price Admmistration to fix a new ceiling for hogs of 1625 cents per 100 lbs. and for cattle 2025 cents, whieh is higher by 140 and 225 cents respectively than the ceilings ruling on June 30. Officials estimate that this will mean an increase of six cents per 1b. in the retaii price of beef over tjie rates on June 30. The Associated Press notes that the new livestock ceiling prices are 525 cents lower for hogs than today's uncontrolled market price, and 975 cents lower for best beef cattle, wbich are bringing thirty dollars per 100 lbs. in Chicago.
