Extra Sugar Ration
The annual release of 31b. ot sugar per head for marmalade making is announced by the Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan) . Coupon Y18 on sheet three of the ration book will be valid for the purchase of 31b. of sugar from September 1 to October 31. The Minister said that he would have likqd to have made an earlier release of the marmalade sugar, but the shortage of shipping space for raw sugar from Australia and.Fiji had only recently been overcome. As tifne would be required td build up the stocks of refined sugar in some districts the Minister advised those who could to delay the redeeming of their coupons until October.
