Mr. Alan John Price has been selected as the National Party eandidate for the Na.pier seat. Mr. Price, who is 27 years of age, was 'oorn and- educated in Napier." He served witli the R.N.Z.A.E." for five years oversdas. and rbs'e to the rank of Wing Commander. Mrs. D. C. Waldie, of Makakaho, Waitotara, has been staying with her sister, Miss L. Dynan, of Levin. Mrs. Waldie was a teacher at the Ohau School over 40 years ago and was the Miss Dynan mentioned in reports of the recent jubilee celebrations. The death has occurred at the ige of 65 of Brigadier Harold Rimmer, of the Salvation Army. Brigadier Rimmer was a well-k3iown officer. Originally he was Captain in charge of Masterton ,and served successfully at Stratford, Patea, Wellington, Pukekohe, Auckland, Cambridge, Levin, Onehunga, Thames, Hamilton, Wellington South, Feilding and Christchurch. Later he assumed control of tlie Aged Men's Retreat at Wallaceville. He retired in 1940 after 42 years' service." He is survived by his wife and seven children.
