LEVIN STOCK MARKET

SMALLER ENTRIES OFFERED There was a shorter yarding of all classes of fat stock at the Levin weekly stock -sale held yesterday. Sheep, in spite of the shorter yardings, did not meet ready competition and slumped to the extent of 2s and 3s per head. A smaller yarding of hoggets was entered, of which the prime sorts were keenly sGught by butchers. An extra prime lamb made £2. Only one pen of store hoggets was yarded and these made 23s. Fat cattle markets were buoyant on cows an heifers being yarded. No veal was offered. The few runners penned brought satisfactory values. A fair yarding of dairy stock came forward, heifers and cows close to profit meeting a ready demand. Backward sorts were hard to quit, and boners and store cattle sold at late rates.
