INDOOR BASKETBALL

^ I Otaki teams showecl a marked -. improvement on last year in their j games against Palmerston North I iast Wednosday, the ladies perhaps! being a sh&de better than the men. ! In tlio first game between the C ' teams thd Otaki girls couldn't settle down, but nevertheless pulj up a good showing. The men's C ; teams turned on a good fast and interesting game, Otaki having the; upper hand most of the game, but Palmerston North rallied .near the j end and pulled off the honours. ' Otaki ladies, in the B grade. had a 1 well-dcserved win against a more experienced tcam. B Edwards was • right on form with her good shooting. and the rest of her team gave her plenty oi' suppoK. The most, exciting of Ihe games was between the men's B teams, very littlo sepnrating them. Palmerston North winning by a margin of three penalty goals. The ladies' A teams put on .a good game. Otaki being better all vound than Palmerston North and never being in danger of defeat. As was expected, the mep's A teams treated the spectators to some really clever play. Palmerston North gonl shooting being a f^aturc of the game. They rarcly missed a shot. and piled up a fairly big score, but this was no indicatiou of the game. Otaki were attacking more often than Palmerston. but were not so skilful in shooting. If the Otaki representatives play as wcll, and improve their goal hooting. they will do well in the N Z. championships. Detailed results were as follows: — Men's games: Palmerston North
