A task force biologist reports that most of the eonf amination remaining is of the bota tvpe whieh is not dangerous except through prolonged eontaet. Keveral large woven rope fenders and other gear wliich remained persistentlv radioact i ve, were heaved overboard. The chief niedieal oflicer of the task force said tliat although 42,000 men were present during the tests, there were 110 injuries direetly resulting from the atom bomb. All the salvageable target ships were being sailed or towed to Kwajalein. Beveral were still too radioaetive to remain 011 for more than a iew minutes.
