TWO KILLED WHEN TRUCK LEAVES ROAD TIMARU, Aug. 25. While travelliug from Fairlie to Cave early yesterdav morning, a truek containing six men failed to take a bend in the road at Winscombe, rau into a deep drain and hit a willow tree, the cati being driven right baek over the tray. Two of the men were killed and the others injured and adniitted to Timaru ILospital. The victims were: Killed Daniel Francis Leary, aged 5U, single, of Totara Vallev. WiJliam Kugrue, aged 24, single, of Kkodes iStreet, Timaru. Injured Douglas Walter Vouug, Timaru. Desniond Wyatt, Kerrytown. James and .jolin Daly, Timaru. They mostlv sutfered shock and abrasiotis aud their condition is de seribed bv tlie hospital autliorities as sat isfnctory. Both the men killed were riding jji the cab. All the men were employees of the Timaru Lime Company at Cave and were returning hotne from a sociaJ when the aecident occtirred. it was raining heavily at the timo.
