WANGANUI, Augiist 24. The recent heavjr rains on Alt. Ruapehu have dislodged more of the milliOhs of tohs of volcanic ash showfired over the peak last summer, and a result has been the choking once again of the Chateau I'ongariro's water supply system. The system was only recently overhauled by the Public Works Departiiient ih preparation for the rCopening of the Cliateau as a toUrist rbsott. The Department is now reported to be niakiug fresh investigations with the hope of providing completely new Water ahd liydl'o-elbctrib systeins, siuce it is thought that volcanic ash will continue to pour dif the motintaih for many more months, oi' possibly years:
