Commemorating 50 years' service to the Church by the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Behnett, jubilee celebrations are to be held at Rotorua on August 31. Bishop Bennett was ordamed at Nelson on August 24, 1897. The arrival of the Aries has a happy portent for at least two people at Ohakea on Saturday. Mrs. j. J. McDowell and child were waiting impatiently for Squadion Leader J. J- McDowell who was aboard Aries and whom they had not seen for almost a year. Among dependants of New Zealand service personnel arriving m Wellington on September 2 by the Largs Bay, are Mrs. H M. Hawkes, wife of Lieut. G. A. Hawkes, R.N.V.R. of Paraparaumu, and their two children; Miss Maiolatesi, fiancee of Mr. F. H. Cockreli, of Levin; and Miss Franco, fiancee of Mr. G. C. Davie, Levin. -
