OHAU SCHOOL JUBILEE

FINAL ARRANGEMENTS MADE CELEBR ATION S THIS WEEK-END The weather experienced during the past two weeks has succeeded in dampening most things, but so far it has failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the Ohau School Jubilee Committee as demonstrated by the attendance at the meeting on Tuesday night, conyened to make final arrangements in connection with the jubilee. It has become increasingly evident that a wise selection had been made in the personnel of the various sub-committees, as was evidenced when the conveners submitted their final reports. They have been untiring in their efforts to see that ne detail has been overlooked that would contribute to the comfort and enjoyment of the guests, and the success of the celebrations. Undoubtedly the secretarial department has had its full share of responsibility for more uhan 400 applications for registration have had to be Sealt with, and the necessary badges, etc., despatched to almost every part of* New Zealand. A. booklet, the preparation of which entailed no small eifort on the part of amateur journalists, has been .prepared and will be on sale at the celebrations. This booklet contains not only a history .of the school and its activities, but also a comprehensive survey of the early days of the district. Saturday afternoon, which is primarily ex-pupils' day, a bus will leave the bus stand at 12.'2Q p.m. and Weraroa at ^2.25 p.m., and will make the return trip to Levin "following the completion of the afternoon's programme. 1 Pupils of the first decade who have signified their intention of being present include: Mr. R. Paxton (Waikato) , Mrs. Bell (Auckland) , Mesdames Carter and Eaton (Christchurch), Mr. J. W. Hercock (Mayor of Napier) , Detective Walsh (Auckland), Mr. F. Whiley (Christchurch) , Messrs. W. and J.
