LEVIN STOCK MARKET
PRICES SLIGIITLY EASIER There was a good yarding of fat sheep at the weekly Levin stock saie yesterday. The quality of wethers was decidedly better than that of recent saies and they sold readily. Prices, taking quaiity into consideration, were slightly easier largely due to the adverse weather conditions. Pigs were in short supply and sold well. Average yardings of fat cattle and dairy stock sold on a par with recent saies.. The f ollowing ; prices were reali'sed:— i- • - \ Sheep: Light "fat ewes;'-28s; ZM :to. 28s lOd; medium, 29s 4d to 31s 7d; prime heavy, 33s 7d to 34s lOd; lightweight wethers, 33s 4d to 34s lOd; medium, 35s lOd to 38s ld; prime heavy, 39s 4d, 39s lOd to £2 ls lOd; light fat hoggets, 27s lOd to 28s 4d; medium, 29s ld to 31s lOd; prime heavy, 35s lOd to 37s 7d. Cattle: Light veal, £3 12s 6d, £3 17s 6d to £4 2s 6d; heavier do., £5 7s 6d, £5 12s 6d to £6 12s 6d; prime heavy, £6 17s 6d to £7 2s 6d; runners, £7 12s 6d, £8 2s 6d to £8 7s 6d; light ox, £15 12s 6d; fat P.A. and Hereford cows, £9 17s 6d to £10 7s 6d; prime heavy, £11 12s 6d, £13 2s 6d to £14 2s 6d; medium bullocks, to £17 10s; springing heifers, £10, £10 10s, £11 5s to £13. Pigs: Pork, £3 15s, £3 18s to £4 19s; sows to farrow, £7 5s to £7 lOd; small store pigs, 27s 6d to 30s; larger do., £2 5s, £2 10s, £2 15s to £3.
