MANAKAU'S MEETING The usual monthly meeting • of ; the Manakau Women 's Institute was well attefided, Miss ' Cotter ! being in the chair. : ' •' Arrangements were made- for- the birthday, '"which is to be neld.one afternoon 'this year. Mrs. Reid kindly oft'ered to make the cake, as members were contributing the ingredients. Miss Cotter gave ari interesting report on the •■recent conference which she attended. The results of the afternoon s competition were as follows:— Marmalade: Mrs. Dorset 1, Mrs. Willis 2. Best fiower: Mrs. White 1, Mrs. Dorset 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Jensen, Mereditn ! and Miss Houghton.
