MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the Otaki sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held recently, those present being: Mesdames Morton (president), Nicolson, Wil-iiam's; Rule, Radcliffe, Lumley, Harrington, Reid, Mortiboy (secretary) and Miss Holmes. Apologies were received from Mesdames South - ccmbe. Saunders, Garrity and Miss Gilmer. Correspondence was read and dcalt with, and the scpretarv wa appointed to represent the society at a meeting called by tne Mayoi concerning the war memorial fund. The annual bazaar, which is to be held on October 16, is keeping the committee busy, and it b hoped that this effort will be the means of providing funds to n?eeJthe increased costs of running thc branch. At a previous meeting the president reported ' attending the coastal. towns annual meeting. at Paekakariki, when Mrs. G. A. Monk was re-elected president, and Mrs. I. Smith, of Paraparaumu, sccre tary. Miss Rissington, of the Blind Institute, had given a most interesting and enlightening address or the work done amongst the 1300 known blind people in New Zsa land.
