JUNIOR CHAMBER
CONVENTION IN LEVIN THIS WEEK-END Delegates from Wellington, Christchurch, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Lower Hutt and Levin will be represented at a distriet convention of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, which will- be held in Levin on Saturday and Sunday. Visiting delegates will arrive on Friday night, and the business of the conyention will commence at 9 a.m. the next day. At 9.30 a.m. the Mayor of Levin (Mr. H. B. Burdekin) will address the convention and .officially welcome the visitors. Convention business will take up the remainder of the morning, and in the afternoon delegates will either take part in a golf match between members of the Levin and Wellington Junior chambers, or watch the representative rugby football game at the Levin Domain. Following a dinner at 6 p.m., Mr. Ted Tarrant, of the Wellington Chamber, will speak on the International Convention . of Junior Chambers of Commerce at Minneapolis, U.S.A. this year, at which he was present. The talk will be followed by a social evening. On Sunday convention business will take up the morning's programme, and after lunch either golf games or a trip to the Mangahao Power Station will be arranged. The latter will depend on whether the road through is clear. Delegates will return to their homes on Sunday evening. A great deal of work has gone into the organisaT tion of the convention, and all Levin members are urged to attend all phases of the business and entertainment programme. The Wellington Chamber has issued an open invitation to all members to do so.
