MEDICAL FELLOWSHIP EXAMS

DUNEDIN, August 19. Entrants from all over New Zealand, numbering between 20 and 30 surgeons, will sit the primary fellowshijj examination of the Itoyal College' of Surgeons in Dunedin n.ext January. The Royal Australasian College has made arrangements witli the Royal College in England for exarniners to be sent to Australia and New Zealand at the elose of the year. They will eoiuluct examinations in Melbourne and Sydney and are expeeted to arrive in Dunedin early in January. This is the first time since before the war tliat such an examination has been lield in New Zealand. rhe primary fellowsliip examination, which will take place at the Otago Medical School, will cover three main subjects: Anatomy, applied pliysiologv, and the principles of pathology. The chief purpose of the examination is to assist in the education of New Zealand surgeons, and it is also intended Lhat it should help in the reliabilitation of doetors who have returned from serving with the Armed Forces and wlio desire to follow a surgieal careor. As the examination is likely toresult in financial loss to Ihe English College of Surgeons this generous gesture of the fauious institution is greatly appreciated. Prior to the examination the Otago Medieal School will conduct revisional classes in the three subjects: — -Anat omv, pliysiologv, and pathology.
