LADIES' COMPETITION

INTER-CLUB GAME ARRANGED The winner of the bogey match played by the Levin Ladies' Golf Club on August 7 was Mrs. Hastedt. This match was the third round for the captain's trophy, there being a further round to complete the series. The three best cards out of the four rounds determine the winner of the trophy, so all

players are asked to hand inNtheir cards when the next round is played. Although playing conditions were good for the August L.G.U. medal and first qualifying rounds, played last week, most of the players found the scoring hard. Mrs. Ryder proved the winner with a card of 103 — 30 — 73. On Wednesday next an interclub match has b.een arranged between the Mangaore and Levin Ladies' Clubs, to be played on the Levin links. The team to play

against Mangaore is as follows: Mesdames Hastedt, Black, Denton, Richards, M. Wilson, McClune, Ryder, Frederikson, Walker and Miss P. Wilson. Players are asked to be ready to start at 1 p.m. sharp. For some time, play f.or the Hunter Buttons has been at a standstill, but it is to be hoped 'that now challenges are going in once more, interest in these buttons will be kept up. Players ' are reminded that unless a match is played within a week from the date of challenge, the challengers must forfeit their claim. Tf one member of t.he challenging pair is unable to play, she may get a substitute " to play instead. ■ This arrangement should ensure that the challenge* matches are kept up-to-date and played within the specified time.
