SHOT FAMILY AND HIMSELF.
Received Sunday, 7 p.m. TOKIO, August 17. The wartime eommander of the Japanese naval forc.es in the New Guinea area, ltear Admiral Shiro Sato, shot and killed his sleeping wife and two children and then committed suieide with the same pistol. He left a note expressing a feeling of degradation because of Japan's defeat, and added: "Dispose of the bodies of me and my family as you wonld those of cats and dogs."
