FIGHTING IN CHINA.

Received Sunday, 7 p.m. NANKING, August 18. The Yenan radio said 8000 Government troops liad been wiped out in fierce figliting along the east and west of the Lunghai railway in the Kiangsu, A.mvhei, and Honan provincial border area. It said the Communists now hold more than 100 miles of the Lunghai railway and added that fierce fighting was raging along the railway running south west from Tatung to the Yellow River. Government, despatches said Government reinforcements had reached Tatung and the Communist siege of it hppeared weakening.
