WLLL1NOTON, August 17. Jim Sherratt, Rugby three-quafter, has made some speedy daslies in ins ' time, but seldom, if ever, has he gouo so f'ar in a short time as he did todar. His fast movement in the past has goo- ; erally been on the football field with the scoring of a try as his objective. Today he travelled at speed in order to reach Wellington from Gisborne in timo to play in this afternoon's intcr-isla'nd ; match at Athletic Park. Yesterday afternoon Sherratt was busy working among spring lambs while speuding holiday leave on -his family 's sheep station near Gisborne. Word then reacfied him that was required to play in today 's match. n i_s a long way from Gisborne to Wellington, but modern transport can make light of it. Sheiratt boarded a plane at Gisborne this niorning and flew to Palmerston i North. There he was met bv a specially chartered taxi which brought liim j to Wellington in time for Juneh and in good order for the match. His cxpericnee might well be regarded with envy by people who have made the same journey by rail.
