ELECTRICITY RATIONING Sir,— We are given to understand that power resx-rictions are essential, and I am sure that all good citizens in this area are anxious to assist, particuiariy as we see how the Plorowhenua Eiectric Power Bcs.ra spreads the cuts - "without lear or favour"— or not much. Recently I observed the followmg: Thursday evening, 11.30 p.m., Levin aghts cn fuii ' blaze; Ocaki in stygian darkness. Friday night, tne same, m spne of the lact tliat it is Otakis iate night the same as Levm's. Saturday morhing, 8 a.m., Otaki's street lights vainiy competing wiuh the morning sunshine. How efficient! From this one would deduct (a) that power saved in Otaki is more valuabie than power saved " in Levin, and (b) that power saved at night is more valuaole than power saved in the daytime, or is it? I am sure other feaders, too, will ce interested in the answer to this one. Before it comes," I would assure you that my facts are correct. Seeing in this case is at least oelieving.
