The Roosevelt family has refused i to have Lionel Barrymore portray , Franklin Delano Roosevelt in M.-G.-M.'s "Beginning of the End." ) Colonel Elliott Roosevelt, husband of film star Faye Emerson. said: "I do not think my father would have wanted Barrymore to portray him on the screen." Lionel Barrymore, on a sick-bed at the time of the last Presidential elections, was outspokbnly antiRoosevelt during the campaign. The studio has bowed to the Roosevelts' wishes. Barrymore has been taken out of the cast and the | role of the late President will probably go to Walter Huston or Thomas Mitchell. Metro is negotiating with Einstein for permission to portray leading scientists in important scenes. The Army insists that scenes showing the New Mexico atomic experiments should be entirely ficticious.
