MEETING AT KOPUTAROA

The usual monthly meeting of the Koputaroa W.I, was held recently in the Koputaroa Hall. Mrs. Koberstein presided over a fair attendance of members and visitors. Apologies were received from Mrs. Sanson and Miss Fitzgerald. The delegate to the recenr Dominion conference gave an interesting talk on matter^ discussed there, and related some amusing experiences. Mrs. Koberstein made a presentation to Miss H. Kernohan, who is to be married soon, and wished her every happiness. The roll call, "Uses for salt," resulted in many ideas of its value. The monthly competition, a pair of hand knitted sox, for both senior and junior alike 'resulted as follows:— Senior: Mrs. Chapman 1, Mrs. S. Kilsby 2, Mrs. McLaughlin 3. Junior: Miss Joyce McLaughlin. A wall competition was won by Mrs. Lancaster. Mrs. Storey won the shrub brooch, Mrs. Hurliman the best bloom and Audrey Storey was the successful junior member for the brooch. The afternoon concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
