ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY Golfing conditiuns at Bucklsy over the week-encT were somewliat mixed. Saturday aiternoon wa> line with a slight wind Dlowing. and light rain fell in tlie latter pai\ of the afternoon. However, mosc of the members who commenced play completed their rounds. A oogey competiLion was held ana The foilowing were the scores: 7V Stem two down, C. Young two down, K. Thomson three down, .3. Bell three down, F. Picard five down, V. Picard five down, H. Stern nine down, -C. Booker ten down, R. Downes twelve down, B Harris twelve down. On Sunday conditions were idea! and there was a good gathering oi members on the links for a fourball best ball stableford. The fol- ■ lov/ing were the results: H. Stern and F. Picard 36, N. Mabey and C. !Stern 35, C. Booker and H. Karena 32, E. Wilson and N. Birch 37, J. Mabey and W. Stern 36. ' In the "top dogs" competition • the holaers, E. Wilson and N. Birch, were defeated two up and ■ one up to play, by J. Mabey and W. Stern in a most interesting game. The handicap committee advises the foilowing reduction in handicaps over the week-end: J. Chambers from 13 — 10 to 11 — 8, J. Bell from 28—21 to 26—20.
