MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of tlie Women's Sec.ticn of tlie Shannon Returned Services' Association was t held in tlie meeting rocm of the ' Fire Station on Saturday evening*. Two nominations were received for the office. and as the i . result of a ballot Mrs. Guerin was re-elected to the office. After the usual business was completed a very amusing competition, entitled "The most embar- • rassing monient of my life," was ; conducted. Some varied and humorous moments were related by members. It was decided tliat the ] branch should celebrate their first birthday by holding a "get together" evening for members of tlie i R.S.A. and women's section on September 7. Mrs. J. Sinclair was presented I with a gift as being the winner of I the most points attained in the ! bloom competitions held during the | past year. The winners of the monthly bloom competition held on ; Saturday evening were: Mrs. J. Sinclair 1, Mrs. J. Ritchie 2, Mrs. Johnson 3. The ladies later i adjourned to Laurvig's Hall, where they entertained the memoers oi'! the R.S.A. at supper.
