LADY GALWAY GUILD
GREAT WORK GOES ON The Lady Gaiway Guild, whieh -ditt teucn guod work during the war years, is still working strenuously in the collection and despatch of Giovmng to England, where it is urgently needed for the people impoverished and in many cases destitute from the ravages of war. Recently the Levin branch of the guiid collected, repaired and sent to iieadquarters iive cartons of clothing. In a letter to the local president (Mrs. C. S. Keedwell), the Wellington branch secretary (Mrs. H. Hannah) expressed thanks for this contribution. The letter stated that the clothing had been unpacked, and would be included in the next quota for shipment to England. In the last few weeks 89 cases had been shipped, each eontaining about 100 garments, and the guild was still receiving letters from the Women's Voluntary Services in England, stating that the clothing was still needed and how gratifying it was to receive such splendid garments. The Levin branch still urgently requires gifts of clothing for this purpose, and would also appreciate cash donations or articles suitable for sale to help carry on the work. Donations and gifts may be left at the guild rooms (in the R.S.A. rooms) on Friday afternoons, or if this is not possible intending donors may ring 101.
