ENTHUSIASM FOR BRITAIN'S HOSPITALITY
By Telegraph
WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. Enthusiasm regarding the trip and the hospitality the ' contingent received in Britain was the main expression of members of the New Zeaiand victory " con&mgterit, who arrived on the Maunganui to-day. Colonel L. W. Andrew, V.C., D.S.O., who was officer commanding the troops, said the men had had the time of their lives. "The entertainment was colossal," he said. "The Welfare League took us over from the start and organised various tours and other entrancements. The men were taken to the Derby, and in fact they were taken everywhere. "The parade itself went very well. The crowd went right up "on their toes. Our contingent had never heard a London crowd cheer like that before, and most of them were overwhelmed. Everything • went very smoothly."
